`Background Experience
Sterling Electro Plating has been in the business of electroplating for 10 years. Our customers are home owners, sporting clubs, hotels and restaurants, antique dealers, jewellers, specialized industries such as electrical and electronic manufacturers and the Perth mint.
The plant continues to evolve to include improved and new processes.

Quality Assurance
Sterling Electro Plating has a quality assurance system complying with AS/NZS ISO 9001:2008, accredited by Bureau Veritas Australia.
This is an internationally recognized quality management system. It is a guarantee to ensure that every process within the company is subject to scrutiny leading to continuous improvement. These improvements include reduced waste, more efficient methods, personnel skills, safety and customer involvement.
The company employs an independent experienced QA officer for internal auditing.

Environmental
All company's using chemicals and pollutants are subject to increasingly stringent requirements regarding handling, waste products and disposal. This affects the plating industry in particular. Sterling Electro Plating recognizes the need for these controls.
The company treats its own waste water (from cleaning process) by evaporating the liquid and compressing the solids to remove moisture. The result is a dry ‘cake’ that is not harmful and exceeds EPA Requirements for safe disposal.

Research & Development
Sterling Electro Plating understands that experimental work contributes to its long- term security. R and D is being carried out on the plating of non- metallic’s (such as bones, leather, shells , flora etc) and metals such as aluminum. The company has its own lab and employs external expertise for specific issues when required.

Associations
Sterling Electro Plating is a member of the Australian Institute of Surface Finishing. The AISF covers all aspects of surface finishing. It promotes innovation and shares knowledge between its members.
Our manager, Carey deLaeter is the current secretary, Federal counsellor for Perth, and vice president of the federal association.
